Tour Description
Start your adventure at the Seeklause car park on the picturesque Hintersee near Ramsau. From here, the well-marked path no. 482 leads steadily uphill through the forest and along a forest road before climbing to the Schärtenalm, which is managed during the summer months.
After the Schärtenalm the path becomes more challenging. A steep path winds through the impressive mountain landscape and always offers breathtaking views of the Hochkalter and the surrounding mountain panorama. The path takes you past the picturesque clearing of the Schärtenalm, encloses a corner of rock and crosses a small bridge.
The last part of the path to the Blaueishütte is a well-laid out but steep path that takes you directly under the majestic rock faces of the Blaueiskar. The Blaueishütte itself is located at an altitude of 1.680 meters and is known for its warm hospitality - especially for the delicious cakes that are served there.

The Blaueishütte as a base camp
The hut not only serves as the perfect place for a relaxing break, but also as a base camp for further exploration of the northernmost glacier in the Alps. From here, further hikes or climbing tours in the impressive Hochkalter massif are possible.
