Tour Description
Your adventure begins at the Hochschwarzeck car park, where you cross the road and follow the gently ascending path “Am Gseng”. The path takes you past the Fronwieshof, between two farms, and joins a forest path that takes you to the edge of the forest. Here begins the steep climb through sparse forest, which leads you to the panoramic Mitterkaseralm.
The route continues to meander around the Schmuckenstein, past artistically carved wooden figures that adorn the side of the path. A comfortable viewing bench is perfect for a first rest. The route continues comfortably along the slope, where the path turns into a wider cart path and gently slopes down to the Mordaualm. There is a picturesque viewing hill with a magnificent view of the surrounding peaks such as Watzmann and Hochkalter.
After you have enjoyed the beauty of the Mordaualm, the path takes you further into the forest and finally back to the starting point at the Hochschwarzeck car park. The way back offers more wonderful panoramic views and ends with a leisurely descent over the ski slope before you reach familiar terrain again.
