Let the weekend
start a little earlier

The extra day makes the difference on Friday. You’re already here, having breakfast, rather than travelling and wondering whether there’s still time for an outing. Berchtesgaden is waiting, and you don’t need to fit two big visits into Saturday.

Arrive on Thursday 28 January and stay three nights until Sunday. Breakfast, a welcome drink, one four-hour Watzmann Therme admission without sauna and salt mine entry are included per person. Arrive on Friday for two nights and the baths are included, without the salt mine.

The mine train takes you into the mountain. From there, the visit leads through underground chambers, down the miners’ slides and across the Spiegelsee on a raft. The lake reflects the surrounding rock, and the temperature stays at around 12°C all year, whatever the weather outside.

Allow an hour and a half to two hours overall, including changing into the protective overalls. Wear sturdy shoes and a warm layer. Arrange your tour time ahead of the visit, then leave the afternoon for a walk around Berchtesgaden or a leisurely meal.

After breakfast, drive to Königssee. A short lakeside outing fits well before the baths if conditions allow. For a boat trip, leave more time and check the timetable first. Boat fares are separate with both weekend packages.

Spend the afternoon at the Watzmann Therme. Four hours give you time to alternate saltwater bathing and swimming, take a break and go back in. Children have the leisure pools and slide too. This is a four-hour admission, so you don’t need to wait until 19:00 to use it. Sauna admission isn’t included.

Sunday needs no big plan: have breakfast together, pack and check out by 10:00. If you’d like to stop somewhere on the way home, we can suggest an outing that fits your route.
