Winter days
between Königssee and the baths

Arrive from 16:00, settle in and perhaps spend your first evening in Berchtesgaden. It’s about nine minutes away by car. Walk through the old town from the market square to Schlossplatz and stop for dinner. We’ll gladly suggest somewhere to eat; your welcome drink is waiting here at Lampllehen.

The next morning, head to Königssee. The boat to St Bartholomew takes you past wooded slopes and steep rock faces towards the church’s red onion domes beneath the Watzmann’s east face. Leave time to walk along the shore before the return journey.

If you’d rather walk, try the Malerwinkel circuit. Behind the boathouses, the path climbs through the woods to viewpoints looking along the lake. Allow about an hour and a half, wear shoes with good grip and choose your route according to snow and ice conditions. Salet and Obersee aren’t served by boat in winter.

The Watzmann Therme is about eight minutes from us by car. Its natural brine comes from Berchtesgaden’s salt mine, with pools indoors and outside. You can alternate a soak with a few lengths in the sports pool, or just take your time between baths.

For families, there’s a current channel, an 80-metre slide and a separate parent-and-child area. These are part of the included pool admission. Your package provides one four-hour visit per person, without sauna, and you can choose the day that suits you.

We can plan your next day over breakfast. For a winter walk, we’ll suggest a route that fits the current conditions. For a city day, Salzburg is about twenty minutes away: wander from Getreidegasse towards the cathedral and leave time for a coffeehouse.

On a wet day, Berchtesgaden’s salt mine is another option, with a mine train, miners’ slides and a raft across the underground lake. Boat trips, the salt mine and museums are paid separately with this package.

Breakfast means fresh bread and rolls, homemade jams and spreads, with eggs cooked to order. In winter, we serve it from 08:00 to 09:30. Take your time and tell us what you have in mind for the day; there’s often a useful tip to add.

For two, choose a Classic or Comfort Double Room. Our Comfort Family Room has two bedrooms, while a chalet gives you around 100 square metres, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and your own kitchen. Chalet guests join us for breakfast in the hotel too. It’s included in every stay.

The winter package is for direct bookings, with daily arrivals from 7 January to 21 March 2027, subject to availability. Choose your dates for the current price and any excluded nights.
